Global Rigging and Transport Fabrication Site

Since 2000 Global Rigging and Transport has been supplying engineering services along with custom design and custom fabrications to the heavy lift and heavy transport industry, as part of our international rigging and transportation project. Over the years GRT has expanded its fabrication capabilities and facilities to better serve our clients and to retain key employees between larger projects.

Some of GRT Custom Fabrications are as, but not limited to the following:
• Jacking, lifting and transport equipment including GRT self-climbing jacks from 55 to 500 ton capacity, 2400 ton Containerized Transport Truss System (CTTS) for relocating the largest container cranes in the world, rod lifters, 1800 ton crane raising frames capable of raising the largest container cranes in the world, skid gear and winch systems.
• Spreader bars, custom jacking and lifting frames.
• Full size cell guide and container lashing systems for ILWU training purposes.
• Sea-bracing and sea-fastening for marine transportation projects.
• Handrails, walkways, stairs and platforms.
• Crane replacement components such as boom girders, leg sections, boom hinge and tower sections.

Most of our custom fabrication is done at out fabrication site. The site stands at 150’ x 55’ with a 30’ high ceiling and a 14’ x 18’ bay door, giving us ample space to work efficiently and effectively. It's also home to a 10 ton overhead crane and we have CWB Certified Welding Operation (since 2002 in mild and stainless steel), AWS Certified Welding Operation (since 2000), a fulltime QAQC manager on staff, fulltime engineers and drafters on staff and fulltime CWB Certified welding supervisors on staff.

As well as the above, GRT offers the following complimentary services, when working on custom fabrication projects:
• Fulltime engineering, modelling and drafting support.
• Field services to support installation, replacement, repair, refurbishment and modifications to material handling equipment. We specialize in Ship to Shore Container Cranes and Bulk Handling Systems.
• Load testing services utilizing both hard weights and water weights to certify new lifting appliances and/or to recertify existing lifting appliances as a result of being refurbished, repaired or modified.
• 24-hour emergency response crews.
