GRT to Move Five, Unload Four and Demolish One Paceco Crane in Puerto Rico!

Updated: Oct 6, 2020

Paceco cranes like the ones GRT will be moving, unloading and demolishing.

GRT's latest project is to move four Paceco cranes from New Jersey to Puerto Rico. Weighing 940 tons each and each with a 50 ft gauge, GRT will be moving them on two separate voyages; carrying two cranes per voyage. When they reach their final destination in Puerto Rico, they will then be unloaded on to the dock.

Currently working on the dock in Puerto Rico are two older Paceco cranes that have to be moved to make way for the four newer ones. GRT will relocate one to the island of St Croix and demolish the other one.

In October last year GRT successfully toppled a CMI 6 crane and the old Paceco will go the same way; it will be strategically cut, blasted in controlled explosions and pulled to the ground using using forklift trucks.
