After loading and delivering one crane from Long Beach CA. to Vancouver, WA. - GRT utilized their 500 ton rod-lifting units to raise the entire crane 18' above the barge deck to accommodate the installation of the elevated skid set required to offload the crane onto an extremely high dock.

Bonneville Dam: (below)
GRT was contracted by the US Army Corps of Engineers to refurbish one 450 ton, dual hoist bridge crane at the Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River. Refurbishment required complete dismantling of all mechanical drives, hoists for inspection and repairs as required for new electric motors, brakes and drive system.

GRT loaded, braced, and sea-fastened one container crane at Long Beach, CA for delivery to Vancouver WA.

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA

The picture shows one of two cranes being discharged at the Port of New Orleans. The cranes had to be shipped at low-level to avoid any overhead obstructions. During the unloading process, GRT used extensive load spreading to avoid any damage to the structure of the pier.

St. James Parish, Louisiana: (above left)
GRT jacked up a Ship Bucket Unloader over 20' onboard the barge deck, installed an elevated skid path to accommodate extremely low water on the Mississippi River during offloading operations and raised the upper assembly of the crane over 80' to the final erection position utilizing GRTs 500 ton rod-lifting units.

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA

After a collision with a container vessel, GRT removed, repaired, and replaced the damaged boom. Without any large cranes in the area capable of lifting the section, a tandem lifting arrangement was used for removing and replacing the boom.

GRT also repaired and strengthened 12 cranes at South Port after damage caused by Hurricane Hugo.

GRT was contracted to relocate 3 cranes from Norfolk International Terminals to the Portsmouth Marine Terminal (below left)

PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD & TOBAGO

A 2000 Ton skid set was used to move three container cranes at the Port of Spain.

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA

GRT relocated a 950 Ton container crane from one pier to another at Halterm in Halifax, Nova Scotia using 50 Ton transport dollys.

GRT slid a new 1500 Ton crane back at the Ceres Terminal in Halifax to reposition it on the dock after being commissioned.

FREEPORT, MALTA

GRT relocated three container cranes for the port of Malta Freeport using their Containerized Transport Truss System (CTTS). All of the cranes were relocated within 10 days from start to finish, 2 days ahead of schedule and with minimal disruption to normal port operations.

COLOMBO, SRI LANKA

Post-Panamax container cranes were delivered to the SAGT Terminals in the Port of Colombo, Sri Lanka following a 12 day voyage from Indonesia. GRT was contracted to deliver 9 cranes in total, 3 from China and the other 6 coming from Indonesia.

After delivering 5 of the 9 cranes, GRT was hired to perform a boom replacement due to a malfunction in one of the cranes operating systems.

After delivering nine fully assembled container cranes to Sri Lanka, GRT relocated an old container crane back from Sri Lanka to Batam for a complete rebuild.
